Ivermectin is a prescription medication primarily used to treat parasitic infections, but it's also effective in treating certain skin conditions like rosacea and acne. It works by killing parasites and reducing inflammation on the skin.
Ivermectin targets and eliminates the microscopic organisms causing skin irritation and inflammation, particularly the Demodex mites often linked to rosacea. It reduces the redness, swelling, and bumps on the skin associated with rosacea and helps calm acne flare-ups. The medication also works to reduce the growth of bacteria on the skin's surface, which helps prevent further breakouts.
